Re-newing a Re-fashioned Skirt

Did you ever have a not-quite "fail"? This overly long two-toned prairie skirt could have gone either way. Fortunately, with a little snipping and hemming it turned out even better than I thought it could - YAY!!
Way too long...

Here are the prairie skirt's pieces:
The legs were used for a different skirt

The original thrifted knit skirt

measured 10" from the hem

Sliced, ironed, pinned, & eventually hemmed...

WHAT I'M WEARING:
  • Thrifted blouse
  • Midi-skirt I made
  • Thrifted pumps, Franco Sarto's

  1. I recently started sewing my own skirts too, and found that a double seam on the bottom makes it look very "finished." I like your re-make of the re-make!

    1. A double seam hem, eh? Thank you so much for that tip! I will do it, it makes sense and it's easy!
